Karen is an experienced IP and commercialisation professional having over 15 years’ experience of leading the identification, evaluation, protection, development, and commercialisation of innovations developed by research scientists and clinicians. She has identified licensing partners and negotiated numerous licensing agreements for a diverse range of technologies including therapeutics, medical devices and digital health products.
Her career encompasses roles within technology transfer offices and most recently with a UK based biotech company working in the gene therapy field, where her responsibilities included negotiating licensing and collaborative agreements including managing the term sheet creation process as well assisting with the identification of licensing and partnerships needs and opportunities. Karen also developed a company-wide data room and was involved in responding to investor due diligence questions in connection with Series C and IPO investments.
Karen holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Manchester and joined HTE in 2021.
