11th May 2021

Health Tech Enterprise (HTE) is pleased to announce it has expanded its team and board with key appointments.

Experienced Finance Director Anthony Clayden has been appointed to the team. Anthony has over 21 years’ experience directing or advising over 40 high growth potential businesses of differing size and complexity and brings broad experience of strategic, operational and financial matters. His career has encompassed a number of businesses in the life sciences and healthcare sector including 6 years as Chief Financial Officer of AIM quoted Futura Medical plc where he was involved in its IPO and a series of placings.

We are also delighted to welcome business development professional Umaima Malik Ahmad to our Board of Directors. Following a career as a senior finance lawyer for global institutions including Citibank, Umaima continued practising law in the life sciences at Abcam before moving into business development at AstraZeneca, where she negotiates significant licensing and divestment transactions across multiple therapy areas. Umaima is also co-founder and Chief Business Officer of 52 North Health, a board member of the UK Pharmaceutical Licensing Group and a trustee of Cambridge Community Arts.

We look forward to the commercial leadership, vision and skills that both Anthony and Umaima will bring to HTE’s mission, improving healthcare through technology and innovation.

HTE has also appointed Mika Mirzanasiri in the role of Analyst. Mike has several years of experience as a Business Executive working with numerous Fortune 500 pharmaceutical and medical device companies – helping to disseminate information surrounding their innovative products to healthcare professionals. This experience proved invaluable for Mika in developing a deep appreciation for how innovations in healthcare can alleviate serious ailments and lead to more successful patient outcomes. Mika strengthens our research and data analytical capacity and experience.

“These appointments will strengthen our team’s financial, business and research capabilities as the organisation continues to build on our 16 year successful track record in medical technology innovation. All three will bring fresh perspectives and insights for the benefit of our clients in industry and the NHS” said Dr Anne Blackwood, Chief Executive at HEE.
