The winners of the Innovation Voucher competition, run by leading NHS MedTech innovation consultancy Health Tech Enterprise and sponsored by eg technology, a Cambridge-based design engineering development consultancy, have been revealed as two teams from Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH).

Consulting revenues for Health Tech Enterprise have grown by 100% in just 2 years as the company has expanded outside of the UK to support international companies in bringing innovative MedTech products to the UK and EU markets. The company has also extended provision of its NHS innovation services outside of East of England to include NHS trusts in London, The South East and South West regions.

A ground-breaking regional anaesthesia device, invented by clinicians at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust (QEH) and developed in conjunction with medical device company Medovate, has been awarded ‘Patient Safety Innovation of the Year’ at this year’s HSJ Patient Safety Awards.

Five young engineers, including TumourVue founder Dr Gita Khalili Moghaddam, have each received a prestigious award and a £3,000 prize from the Royal Academy of Engineering for achieving early success in their career. They were presented with their awards from HRH The Princess Royal, Royal Fellow of the Academy, during a specially arranged visit to the Thames Tideway Project in London on 6 July.
