Health Tech Enterprise (HTE) is a leading Healthcare Consultancy based in Cambridge. We believe in improving healthcare through technology and innovation. Key aspects of HTE’s work include providing strategic market access services to technology companies looking to gain insight into how they can develop their products and access the NHS and other international healthcare markets. We help our clients understand market opportunities, demonstrate cost-effectiveness, conduct evaluations and advise on regulation, intellectual property, funding & investment opportunities.

For the NHS we deliver a broad range of innovation management services providing expert advice, funding and support to clinical innovators to translate their ideas from concept through to commercialisation. HTE currently provides services to ~20 NHS organisations across England.

Celebrating our 20th Anniversary this year, HTE is now an established player with a growing and diverse client base. We deliver high quality, bespoke services to help innovators navigate the complex healthcare market.

To support these efforts HTE is now looking to appoint a number of new Non-Executive Directors to support the CEO with the strategic growth and direction of the organisation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Non-Executive Directors will work alongside the Chair of the Board and the Executive Team to set the strategic direction, provide effective leadership and support and challenge to the Board.

  • Attend and contribute to Board of Directors’ meetings and assigned meetings of key governance committees and Board development activities
  • To provide independent guidance and support in relation to issues of strategy, vision, performance, resources and standards, providing constructive challenge and influence while assisting the Executive Teams in developing relevant proposals
  • To develop a constructive, open relationship with the Chief Executive and the Directors through regular communication and providing strategic input
  • To act as an ambassador, representing and promoting actively HTE and effectively engaging with key stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain strategic networks that will be of benefit to HTE
  • To ensure the highest standards of corporate governance and personal integrity are maintained

Person Specification

Key attributes that we are looking for include:

  • A commercial approach with a strong track record of driving growth and revenue in entrepreneurial life sciences businesses
  • A strong track record of successfully achieving performance targets
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in any of the following fields: technology consulting; legal; fundraising; licensing & spin-outs; sales and marketing; business strategy
  • Experience of developing and implementing a strategic vision for an organisation with a diverse range of clients in a complex market
  • Strong evidence of effective partnership working and a collaborative, creative approach to resolving issues
  • Experience of working at Director level and holding senior officers to account
  • Highly developed communication and listening skills
  • The enthusiasm and drive to make an impact

Health Tech Enterprise is a not for profit and we offer an annual salary of £6,750 in addition to associated expenses and travel. You would be expected to be able to attend 10-12 meetings per annum with a mix of in-person and virtual attendance.
